What is Environmental Management & Monitoring?
Environmental management involves establishing the systems, controls and monitoring requirements needed to manage environmental risks during construction, development and ongoing site operations.
Depending on the site or activity, this may include preparing environmental management plans, establishing monitoring programs, responding to licence or approval conditions, and assessing environmental performance over time.
Environmental monitoring provides the data needed to understand whether controls are working effectively and whether environmental conditions remain within applicable criteria, licence limits or project requirements. Monitoring may include air, dust, water, landfill gas or other site-specific parameters depending on the environmental risks and regulatory obligations associated with the site.
